What actually *is* financial coaching?

Do you feel like you're constantly stressed out about money, despite your best attempts to take charge of your finances? Are you always wondering why your financial goals feel further and further in the distance, regardless of the long hours you work? Is your salary healthy on paper, but find your bank account empty at the end of the month and those numbers aren't shifting in the right direction?

That's where financial coaching comes in.

Picture me as your financial PT.

When it comes to fitness, there's tonnes you can do yourself with Google, a few books and a podcast or two. But often, you find yourself feeling frustrated with slow progress and lacking motivation.

Working with a PT can help overhaul your fitness: they build your training knowledge, your confidence and provide you with accountability to speed up your progress and build life long healthy habits.

As your financial coach, I'm here to help you overhaul your relationship with money, working with you to improve your financial fitness on both a mindset and practical level.

I bring knowledge and experience to each session to help you to elevate your life and get closer to your goals, as well as providing much needed accountability to help you to take meaningful action each and every day.

"So Ellie, are you a financial advisor?"...one of the most common questions I'm asked.

No, I'm not an advisor! The roles of a financial coach and advisor are hugely different, although they often are highly complimentary to each other.

Coaching focuses on the behaviour that underpins how we manage our money and why we think and believe what we do about money, along with practical steps for everyday money management. I help you to understand better how to make your money work for you, whether that's budgeting, saving or spending.

Advice is typically product focused and helps identify the best financial products for your individual circumstances. Often, advisors will look at the assets you currently have - whether that's property, pensions or savings - and look at options to help maximise your worth.

It's often not always crystal clear where to start so if you're unsure where to begin, get in touch and we can talk about the best option for you!
